Thanks to whoever grabbed those boxes. I didn’t get to break them all down before we had to leave for a min.

There are some croissants in the pantry for our nighttime peeps. We have a few produce left in the small cooler. Per normal don’t take the cooler.

There is two boxes left if anyone wants to grab them.

Two days in a row a women in a black large Escalade came to the pantry.

Yesterday, she was witnessed gathering large amounts of the meat I just left in the cooler with none left for others.

Today, I watched the same vehicle come, but they just took a few items as the pantry was pretty empty.

There was a white smaller dog I could see today.

If this was you, and you arrived two days in a row taking all that meat, you’re not welcome back.

I understand scarcity mindset and understand many people pick up for extra families. However, this wasn’t that. I would say almost everyone that comes to the pantry lets me know and ask because they don’t wanna take from other families or come off that way.

I leave stuff out because I want to have trust, respect for each other as a community. I know many of us have terrible schedules and can’t come immediately and many people come late at night. I see them and they are generally very respectful knowing it’s a quiet neighborhood.

I don’t wanna close up or have to worry about someone being inconsiderate of others. I don’t wanna ever have to go to any authorities or something if I say don’t come back and you do. It’s really unacceptable though to take the amount you did.

This is a raw post for me and quite frankly, I’m exhausted from today and shouldn’t even have to write this. This is what I look like right now.

A Little Pause 💚

Our Makana family is taking a short pause.

The pantry will be closed for the next two weeks while we take some time to regroup, make a few behind-the-scenes adjustments, and get things organized for the season ahead.

We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported The Makana Foundation, donated, volunteered, shared our posts, and trusted us to be part of this community. None of what we do happens without you.

This isn’t goodbye—it’s simply a little reset. 💚

We’ll keep you posted as we get closer to reopening, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back.

I am sure I know who it was. You’ve been banned from other pantries. White lady, 50-60 year old, black sub with gold trim. Mercury or Lincoln. People saw you.

Jackpot! Remember to be mindful of your neighbors and swipe the pantry.

Take all that lettuce and salad though and still wash really good because I got no idea or trust. 🤣🤣🤣 Animals can eat it though.
