Folks, I am so happy to announce that I have decided to relaunch Droplet Dance in the new year! I have been meditating and have been getting clear strong messages from spirit that this is the next path forward. Thank you so much for the support and encouragement as I keep creating solos, duets, and I want to add group pieces in this new chapter. Thank you to my collaborators, Shepsi Eaton, Shana Bloomstein, Gawler Family Band, Women's Works, the The Read Twinz, Springtide, Kongero, Ray Reitze, Robert Post, Holman Gawler, Karen and Tony Montanaro, Fred Garbo, Cori Kresge, Maisie and Eric Dayan, Dale Andre, Pineland Fiddlers, Ellen Gawler, Benjamin Foss, Bennett Konesni, Kyung-sun Baek and all of my students. I learn so much from all of you.
I feel like this year is the beginning of a new creative chapter for me. Is it for you? I am done breastfeeding. This is significant. I have been giving and giving (and I love giving to the beloved children I have) for 10 years. Since this shift, I have been able to catch up on sleep. My hormones are balancing. I am eating well. I am reclaiming my body. I meditate from 5:00-6:00am every morning. And I have my own house with running water that supports and nourishes me.
This has been a huge year. I feel like I am making my garden, and the sprouts are sprouting and the year of 2026 there will be blossoms and fruit. I have been steadily making solos. Now I have 39 of them.
I create my dance show with those solos and collaborate with a few beloveds adding music and other dance and performance elements to my show. I have been cultivating this since 2012. So Droplet Dance is going into year 8. I am ready to FLY.
Right now I have a few dates on the calendar: April 11 and 12 at the UU Church in Belfast and April 19 at the Johnson Hall Theater in Gardiner. If you want to keep up to date on shows, my email list is vibrant, steady, and a good way to see the info. PM me to be added.
All choreography in my show is made by me. I have had help with directors at the Celebration Barn Theater. Robert Post has helped me make 6 of my solos. And Karen Montanaro is a constant model, sounding board, and collaborator.
I think if I were to choose a word for this year ahead for the intention I want to cultivate and feed it would be:
COLLABORATE.
I love people! I love you! I love making things together.
I started Fern Dance Collective two years ago, thinking I would change from Droplet Dance to Fern Dance Collective. But it became clear that Droplet Dance wanted to stay.
