The Chesapeake Gallery at Harford Community College features contemporary art by emerging and established artists as well as HCC faculty and students.
Located in the upper level of the HCC Student Center, the Chesapeake Gallery is the only exhibition space of its kind in the region. Tomorrow is the day! The gallery reception of our current exhibition "Balance" will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30th, from 11:30AM-1PM. Following the reception, artist Bill Wolff will be giving a talk from around 1:30-3PM in room SC243, which is located right next to the Chesapeake Gallery. See you then!

Today the gallery highlights an artwork currently on display within the "Converging Patterns" exhibition titled "Fences and Barriers", by artist Margi Weir. This was created by intricately hand-cutting a digital ink print on paper. Weir's works are full of detail, so come on in to the Chesapeake Gallery to see them for yourself!

To start off our virtual artist Q&A sessions, I invite you to learn a little more about Desmond Beach's background and sources of artistic inspiration.
As the Chesapeake Gallery adapts its exhibits to a strictly online presence, we welcome two artists from the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, Desmond Beach and Elizabeth Miller. Their artwork addresses issues of racism, as well as current and historical events surrounding the African American experience. Both of these artists work in a variety of mediums including performance, drawing, sculpture, digital, fiber, installation and photography in order to pass their message along to the viewer.
