🚨 Double J Update – Monday, June 8 🚨

Regarding tonight’s race at Double J, we have some bad news.

The outdoor run-in/run-out pen is simply too wet to safely run horses in and out. As always, the safety of our horses and riders comes before profit, so we have made the decision to reschedule Race #2.

We know many of you were looking forward to racing tonight, so they will provide a dry place for everyone to ride. Double J will be hosting an Open Ride indoors from 5:00–8:00 PM, with barrels set up and poles available upon request.

💲 $10 per rider (unlimited horses)
📍 Double J Indoor Arena – Haskell

We appreciate everyone’s understanding. We never like canceling or postponing events, but we will always err on the side of caution when it comes to footing and safety.

We look forward to seeing everyone tonight for some indoor riding, and we’ll announce the rescheduled race date as soon as possible. ❤️🐴

First, thank you to everyone who came out and supported us in Kellyville last night. I truly appreciate each and every one of you! Results coming (I left my computer in the vehicle that he took to work🤦🏻‍♀️)

Moving forward, if you pre-enter and do not show up without a call or text letting me know, you will not be eligible for the early draw at the next race. Instead, you’ll receive a draw number when you arrive and pay.

I hope everyone understands why this is necessary. Last night we started with 23 entries, and I had at least five people pre-enter and then not show up or communicate. Had I known those entries weren’t coming, I likely would have canceled the race altogether.

Pre-entries matter. Producers already operate on very slim margins (pennies) to provide a place for people to compete, and when no-shows start costing hundreds of dollars, it becomes difficult to continue producing events.

To be clear, this is not directed at those who have emergencies, schedule changes, or other circumstances come up and take the time to communicate. I greatly appreciate those who call or text and let me know. This is directed at the individuals who simply don’t show up and don’t respond when contacted.

I could require payment at the time of entry like many producers do, but I have chosen not to because I try to make things as easy and affordable as possible for everyone.

Please be considerate of producers—especially those who work hard to provide local, safe, affordable places to run and offer classes that give riders of all levels an opportunity to compete. A simple text goes a long way.

Also a huge shoutout to Kellyville Roundup Club for their amazing facility, ground and hospitality.

Thank you all for your support, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the next race.
