As do the memories of you

You arrive every year
The wait worth waiting

You bring freshness
Cool air and hay rides

You are a new season
We experience the same -

Breathe in Breathe out ~
You get to bring them along too

I want to tell you something
You see I had a child that died
He was my forever child-
Given a name before he was born

Sometimes I hide what comes on suddenly
Sometimes it means I am holding grief
It’s that fast once again approaching wave
But like all waves sneaking in, they recede

So, what I want to tell you
They are your forever child-
They now hover right next to you
So reach for their hand ~

Close your eyes~
Tell them you won’t let go
Let them know how they shine in you
How you know that wave only means love

When I look at the world, it is easy, really easy to wonder why my particular life is a particular way, when it could easily be another way. Like the child who wakes with no shoes to put on, who uses broken up pieces of cement from the blown up buildings to walk across like stepping stones and its remnants of dust that now cover their feet, while it is my feet in the world with perfect concrete poured underneath them, walking alongside homes with neat spaces that trigger the calm whose thoughts then turn and becomes that child from afar who I then imagine shoes being placed upon their feet and homes with flowers surrounding them- praying that they just keep imagining the same - to not give in to the destruction that came to them- but keep going with that dream, that what is today for them, will and can change- let their mind be the one to see what their feet cannot feel.

Made up of walls
Hard Hard Walls
Doors and windows
Looking through
Looking in ~
Let’s not pretend
You and me ~
Crazy place we live in
Crazy place outside
A place of design
Inside this body
Bones and eyes
All kind of shapes
All kinds of minds
All kinds of different

A Suffering Mind Over Love~

to deny you of what you love
that is what I observe

over and over again
~ nothing more cruel

to be kept from what you love
that is what I observe

for a moment they are yours
~ and quickly they are gone

repeating over and over again
~ nothing more cruel

I don’t know what I was observing in this photo back then, but it seems from a very young age we carry ourselves forward. As I grow older my stance has become wider. It is what we first observe in ourselves, that changes the world around us.

Leave your mark in this world
Leave something about you behind
Something good that overrides-
Will it be your wonderful laugh
To be recalled just like that-
Or maybe it’s the way you smile
Or even the way you enter a room
Or maybe what you say about others
Even when they treat you bad-
Do you give yourself time to reflect-
Be careful with that one voice of yours
Will it be heard as loud or calm
Don’t force one thing to change -
Don’t suffer -be kind to you-
Be like the one that made a mark
The one with the best comebacks
Even when they suffered-
Will they have Kiwis in heaven
That is what they asked-
Imagine all possibilities-
Live like you will die tomorrow
Don’t let one thing be left unsaid
Maybe say it first to yourself -
I wish you all the best-
Leave that one mark in you-

Don’t you worry -
you’re always going to walk
through this life with them -

For it is now -

A life that coats the center of you
A life that sticks to you like glue
A life that now is embedded in you
A life that you carry from here on out-
A life that is now like a tattoo-

Why is it that I find you at my feet where there is proof that I still exist and so do you. Some say we just depart and then that’s it. I don’t believe that to be true. I believe that you are here and there and everywhere- there seems to be a link between these eyes and you. Let’s not pretend that there is truly an end. You manifest in greater ways that makes me understand that while you and me may be gone- like a running stream that carries the branch onward and another one that follows to the same place with no end - a place of a resting open that goes onto live in a way that we truly do not comprehend - but it is there - and we know it is there- just like we know we are here… and so are you- that much we understand.
