Choir Illume was founded on the belief that we can shine light through song—and few artists embodied that spirit like Dolly. Her music reminded us to lead with kindness, show up as ourselves, and let a little light shine wherever we go.

This spring, soprano Samantha Gillespie (samg214) brought that spirit to the stage with “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” words and music by Dolly Parton, arranged for choir by Craig Hella Johnson, conducted by Tim Brown Watching this song come alive with our choir behind her feels like exactly what Dolly always sang about—hope shining through, together.

Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for the light. 💛
