Love
Lives
On in all
Who loved and received love.
Active love isn’t all rose with no thorns. It must be handled with care, intention and fertilized. There
Is also a season for roses to bloom and to lie dormant.
Love in a new way this first heavenly Mother’s Day for our Mama, Mimmy, Sissy, Sister, cousin, sister in-law, Aunt, Linn, Linda, Momma Linn, friend or LinnieCakes whichever name you called this woman who smiled her way thru life.
Smile on Momma.
We still feel your presence.

Goodbye 2025. Welcome 2026.

I can care without carrying ❤️‍🩹

As I step into this new year, I’m holding space for what was, what is, and what’s still unfolding.

This past year changed me.
Losing my mom — in just three short months — taught me how fragile and sacred life really is. Linn wanted a big-ass going-away party, and that’s exactly how she lived her final season: treats, chai tea, games, hugs, love… and her smile. When I close my eyes, I still see it. 💛

For anyone entering this new year feeling tender, grieving, lonely, or unsure — please know this: you are not alone. We really are together, each in our own way.

One thing I’m carrying forward into 2026 is this truth:

I can care without carrying.
Unless it’s a sunrise or a sunset…
the rest, I get to choose to set it down.

That’s my mantra.
That’s my permission slip.

I’m deeply grateful for my family — for Heather, Steven Rose, Boz — and for dear friends who held space while I found my footing again. Thank you to those who listened, sat quietly, walked beside me, or simply let me be where I was.

I also want to say thank you to Chris Theis — for believing in the song I See Her Smile, for believing in me, and for co-creating music that reaches to the Heavens! And thank you to Indigo Blue for friendship, steadiness, and shared moments of light during a hard season.

As I move into 2026, I’m choosing love.
I’m choosing listening.
I’m choosing presence over pressure.

Here’s to caring deeply — without carrying what isn’t ours.
Here’s to new beginnings, soft strength, and choosing ourselves with compassion.

Thank you Saint Boz! You are the best man I’ve ever known!!

Happy New Year. 🌅✨

Ravens and Angels

by Rochelle Harper & Joe Taylor

Ravens and Angels is a reverent, soul-borne tribute to the fallen—those who gave everything in the name of freedom. Born during the stillness of the 2020 lockdown, the song began as a whisper of reflection and grew into a full-bodied homage to soldiers, memory, and the unseen presence of those we carry with us.

Co-written and produced by Joe Taylor, the song blends haunting melodies and lyrical storytelling that walks between shadow and light—between the raven’s wisdom and the angel’s grace. It honors the lives lost, the freedom fought for, the freedom set free and the complex meanings of peace and sacrifice.

Also, its about feeling the presence of our loved One’s who “fly-on” ❤️‍🩹🕊️🙏 especially my momma

The Tale of the Howl – Rochelle Harper

20 years ago today, August 29th, lives and landscapes were forever lost, affected, and haunted. Out of that devastation came a song written on my 1962 Gibson Hummingbird with rattlesnake tails inside—The Tale of the Howl.

Born from Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf Coast’s resilience, I first performed it in 2009 opening for Woodstock legend Richie Havens at a fundraiser for Riverbuild, the group that returned year after year to rebuild homes in Hancock County.

Now, on the 20th anniversary of Katrina, the song returns on digital platforms.

The Tale of the Howl – Rochelle Harper

I wrote The Tale of the Howl on my 1962 Gibson Hummingbird guitar, which carried three rattlesnake tails inside until this song was born. One of those tales sparked the story of a Native American man who appears on the Bay and howls at hurricanes—reminding every storm that no matter what destruction it brings, it will never take the soul of our town or our people.

This song came in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, stirred by the devastation along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and the spirit that could never be washed away. I first performed it in 2009, opening for Woodstock legend Richie Havens in Ossining, NY at a fundraiser for Riverbuild, the volunteer group that returned year after year to rebuild homes in Hancock County.

For those of you who can hear WQRZ 103.5 (228-463-1035), they have up-to-date info about on storms — and have played “The Tale of the Howl.” And other local music!

Now, on the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina (August 29, 2025), The Tale of the Howl is available on digital outlets:
