In progress stitching of two redcoats from the scene of the Battle of Brooklyn. These two figures will be appliquéd to the panel at a later time.

Continuing our progress updates: The scene of Molly Rideout observing George Washington’s resignation of his commission in the historic Senate Chamber of Maryland’s State House, which served as the new country’s capitol where the Continental Congress met from November 1783 to August 1784, is in the upper right corner of the design. We have decided to straighten some of the lines of the windows and walls in this area, which has meant we are basting in the lines we want our stitching to follow. We have started work on several areas within this section; windows on the left side, walls on the right, the floor on the right, and some of the silhouettes representing the delegates in attendance as the resignation occurred. Molly Ridieout’s figure is being worked on separate pieces of fabric and will be attached later.
