Turnstyle

Turnstyle MUSIC / FASHION / ART from RVA USA. Online home to DJ's JOANNA O. + JESSE SPLIT. Big love to everyone that supported the shop for 13 years!

Turnstyle was Virginia's underground dance music specialists & vinyl boutique from 2003 - 2016 . The brick & mortar location on Broad Street downtown featured musical selections of house, breaks, techno, drum & bass & dubstep on 12” vinyl & CD. Streetwear fashions from established brands & upcoming designers for men & women were stocked & rotated. The shop was the 1st to feature live dj’ed music, outside, monthly on the First Friday’s Artwalk. Turnstyle helped shaped the Jackson Ward area into a hip spot to be for the 13 years it was open. The shop was significant to the rise of the city’s Arts District & continues to be involved in the community today. Turnstyle’s FM radio show - FREQUENCY, can still be heard on Saturday nights on 97.3fm or wrir.org from 9-11pm EST. Archival site: http://www.turnstyleonline.com

⚡ ELECTRIC JUNGLE: DJ SPOTLIGHT
VILLEM 🇬🇧

This one is very special.

On October 17th, Villem comes to Richmond from the UK for an intimate Electric Jungle at Loso.

His latest release, “Moonstruck,” is a perfect introduction to the warm, rolling and soulful sound Villem has become known for — deep, atmospheric and built for the dancefloor.

A longtime name in the deeper side of drum & bass, Villem has released music on Metalheadz, Hospital Records, Spearhead, Symmetry, Ingredients, Med School, UKF and LSB’s Footnotes.

His collaborations with McLeod earned widespread acclaim, including the Beatport #1 “Fear Bites” featuring Riya & Dynamite MC, while his work with BCee as The Vanguard Project has taken him around the world.

Now you get to hear him up close at Loso - one of Richmond’s most loved night clubs.

No massive festival stage. No giant warehouse.

Just Villem, a serious sound system, and the Electric Jungle dancefloor. And you!

🎧 Listen to “Moonstruck” and get familiar with the sound before October 17.
