BIO:
If a photo could describe what a hip hop ambassador is or would be, the photo would be that of Stephanie “Tay-Tay” Dorrill. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Tay or Tay-Tay as she is affectionately referred to in the music community, is a devote music lover, businesswoman, and concert promoter. She began her journey in the entertainment industry as a music fan who commuted from her then home in We
stern Maryland to Baltimore City to go to hip hop shows and photograph her favorite artists. As time went on, Tay took it further and turned her love for the music and hobby to the next level. While attending shows and promoting her favorite acts online on social networks, Tay Tay took a leap of faith, moved to the Baltimore area and booked her first show at local venue Penquins (currently known as BL Lounge). From then on, it was history and Tayland Promotions was born. From 2007 to the Present, she has produced over 100 shows which showcased the most promising hip hop talent in the Mid-Atlantic region. Her work has inspired her to not only help the up and coming artists but also use her shows as vehicle to speak out against injustice and to help her community. To date she has done several benefit shows for fallen members of the artistic community and their families and she is also a leading member in the Baltimore Hip Hop Council. Her efforts to provide quality concerts have not left Tay Tay unrecognized. She has received various nominations and awards including Promoter of the Year at the 2009 Baltimore Crown and 2009 Best Promoter by the Baltimore City Paper Best of Baltimore Awards. Her professional mission is simple: “… to have the very best shows, concerts and events possible and for people that would not normally hangout together all having a blast at Tay-Land Promotions events.” Her professional influences include promoters ThaPoopShow.com and Frank Lewis and hip hop acts such as Minlus McCracken & The Bootleggers, Sonny Gunnz, and Ogun. Her most notable events to date are her Queen of the Mic All Female Hip Hop Battle Competition and her annual Birthday Bash. Although a big fan of hip hop, she has featured R&B, Dub-step, Rock and Alternative artists on her line up. With a long list of artists she has assisted in reaching their goal of performing on stage, Tay Tay continues to be the #1 advocate, ambassador and leader of the Baltimore hip hop artistic community. Along with a great team of supporters and fans that help make a great show, Tay Tay hopes to continue to bring quality live concert experiences. She quotes, “I am the best at everything I do, because I put my all into everything. I am myself at all times and I am very happy to share myself and my talents with others. I get great joy from helping others and by having events and shows that make people happy. I get pleasure out of seeing others having a good time at my events.” For more information about Tay Tay and Tayland Promotions visit, www.facebook.com/taylandpromo or email [email protected].
