Significant case update! 🚨

Yesterday, Defendant David Aney pled to one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and two counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy DA Janae Knallay.

In 2020, Aney began a roommate relationship with a friend who shared the home with his 9-year-old son. Aney abused the 9-year-old minor in the home continuously until 2022, when it was reported.

Aney also has prior convictions for child molestation and child po*******hy. In 2001, Aney was convicted of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14. In 2013, he was convicted for possession of child po*******hy.

DA Zimmer stated, “I am deeply heartbroken for the innocent children who have endured unimaginable suffering because of Aney’s inexplicable actions. No child should ever be subjected to such harm. I am relieved knowing that with this conviction, Aney will no longer have the opportunity to inflict pain on another innocent minor again.”

Sentencing is set for May 5, 2025 where Aney faces life without the possibility of parole.
