We’re back!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We're sad to announce that this year's Oleander Pride event has been cancelled. This decision was made after careful consideration of several factors that came up over the past week.

The biggest factor is that our amazing event has outgrown Beale Park, and it would take a massive financial and logistical lift to move it to another space, find vendors, arrange security, etc. to deliver the high-quality experience that our community deserves and has come to love over the past four years. We feel the best course of action at this time is to hold off on this year's event. We are happy to support other local events.

Bakersfield is home to several other amazing Pride events, including the Bakersfield Museum of Art's Pride event on Thursday, June 27, from 7-10 p.m. We will share information about this event and others happening throughout June in our community. If you know of any other Pride events happening, please share them with us too.

Much love to our Oleander Pride community. We are so grateful for all of you. Love always wins.

Clinica Sierra Vista and the Mission have a event happening until 2pm by the Mission. Lots to offer for the homeless but also testing for Hep C on site. Really cool services and support for the community!

We want to thank one more group of people that we couldn’t do this with out. Our spouses, partners, kids and even grands allow this event to take over our brains for awhile every year. They support and love us, and show up wherever needed. We are grateful to all of them for what they do, and we couldn’t make it happen with out them.

Our goal is to support community and give everyone a safe place to know that they are safe, welcome and loved. All of that starts at home. We are so lucky to have our own safe places so we can help bring this one to you. ❤
