Baker's Chili Cook - Off was a success! We had 5 talented Chef's submit their best chili recipe, and the crews got to taste and vote on their favorite. Thank you to all who participated and donated to the Brighter Days fund. $171 dollars were raised, and Andrea Bond and Charline Simmons were deemed top Chili Chefs!

Ken is our senior scheduler, and a key member of our team. Help us congratulate him on reaching 35 years with Marvin this month!

His favorite Marvin memory is when he took a trip to North Caroline to look at scanners with a few other Baker team members. A good day at work for Ken entails completing and shipping orders on-time and getting to walk around and visit with people on the production floor. When he's not at work, he enjoys hiking, camping and road trips like this picture he's shared!

Fletcher is a Scanner Operator on & has been with 1 year. The person who nominated him said, "He follows rules & takes his time to help others do the right thing. Looks out for opti people & will jump in to help when needed.“

Passing the baton at Baker
Yesterday, the Baker team sent off Plant Manager Sandi Fuller with a retirement party to celebrate her last day! The event included kind words, some delicious cake and visits from past and present employees. Pictured below are all three plant managers from left to right, prior plant manager Everett Vassar, Sandi Fuller, and new plant Manager Chad Hurliman.

Sandi dedicated 32 years to Marvin holding multiple positions in her tenure. Sandi started out in administrative and purchasing roles, moved to Human Resources and then finally held the title of Plant Manager for the past 5 years. Sandi will be missed but we wish her a happy new chapter of retirement life!

A little December Wrap-Up is needed to highlight all the fun things that have been happening at Marvin! December has been a busy and festive month in Baker.
* To kick off the month our teams warmed up with a hot chocolate/coffee bar - yum!
* Our Bright Squad and Contribution Council were hard at work supporting our local communities with donating a tree for the Festival of Trees, sponsoring a CASA giving tree and family in need for MayDay Inc - thank you to all that donated!
* Our annual kids Christmas Party was a blast as always for our team and their mini-Marvins!
* Finally wrapping up with yesterday's ugly sweater contest and first ever plant wide secret Santa during the year end meeting was a great way to celebrate the holidays and our hardworking teams!

Justin Benintendi - Marvin Milestone
Cheers to 5 years with Baker City Marvin!

Justin Benintendi is a current Operator Trainee with Marvin Baker City in the RipScan department. He said the best parts about his job are being able to cross-train and help out others in the different departments. He said a good day at work looks like everything running smoothly and being able to watch product run through the plant and hitting production goals. When he is not at work, he loves being outside hunting, fishing, hiking - anything involved in the outdoors! Thank you for all your hard work, Justin!

Congrats to Mark Coombes on 20 years of Service.
Currently Mark serves as Baker's Safety Coordinator and works to keep our team members and facility safe. When he is not at work, he likes to spend time in his shop creating things like bowls, pens and urns. Thank you for all that you do!
