Our childhoods were no doubt a source of massive inspiration ( even if there was intense trauma, as in my case) because of how open and receptive we are from ages 0-7.

The world was big, wild, magical, and scary!

It was that same inspiration that provided an escape for us into the worlds of our imagination….and ultimately into our art and creativity!

This image represents many of my childhood ‘companions.’ 🥹🩷 And honestly, it’s a world that I wish I could STILL escape into at times!

Comment ‘FIERCE’ and I’ll DM this to you🐦‍🔥 This is the finished piece, inspired by the a powerful medicine journey in which the phrase ‘fierce creativity’ became the mantra throughout the night. I was utterly astounded by the mind-blowing cosmic artistry found in the medicine, designs and colors that were never repeated, always novel, always exquisite. Art is a great way to work with emotions ( it can also be super fun like in this sketch;) Art and the creative process is healing because it allows you to process your thoughts and feelings in safe outlets of expression. ( ESPECIALLY if there’s a narrative you’re working with)

In this comic panel, Clara is slaying a monster because it’s her ‘job’…she’s gotten really good at it…but she has fun with it by saying cheesy 80s one-liners😝 In doing this I take the ‘seriousness’ out of many things in my own life, which allows me to then focus on the truly important things.

The greatest experience an artist can have…is to be caught up in the rapture of making art. Everything else fades away.
No conflicts. No contests. No comments. Just the artist and the art. Granted it’s not always like this, but when it is, there’s nothing else quite like it❤️‍🔥
