ARTKILL$ KERTIFIED.
Last night at Something Cool Studios…Pink light everywhere — not soft, not romantic —
but thick… immersive… like stepping inside a mood you couldn’t shake.
“Red Light Lit Austin,” curated by Loria Mendoza, wasn’t built like a showcase.
It was built like a space to feel something you don’t always say out loud.
And people showed up ready.
This wasn’t just a show — this was a full-body experience.
“Red Light Lit Austin” didn’t play it safe.
Erotic poetry. Burlesque. Real stories of identity, repression, and self-discovery… all unfolding in real time.
You had voices shaking the room…
people being led on leashes while owning the mic…
confidence on full display with zero apology.
And the crowd?
Locked in. Respectful. Present.
One guitarist — Able — holding the pulse of the night.
Live painting by Beautifully Chaotic Art turning energy into visuals right in front of you.
No judgment. No weird energy.
Just raw expression across every spectrum in one room.
That kind of freedom?
That’s intentional.
Stamped. Approved. Certified.
If you missed it… you missed a moment.

THE MIDDLE GROUND: OPEN NIGHT is going live at Something Cool Studios. Where gallery meets chaos in the best way possible. Live painting, open wall energy, music in the air, drinks in hand… yeah, this one’s got motion. Shoutout to the Sketchy Thursdays Crew for building a space where artists don’t just show work… they move through it. Walls breathing color. Spray cans singing. Strangers turning into “yo what’s your IG?” in 10 minutes flat. Inside the gallery, every piece had a voice. Outside, the wall turned into a playground—kids, vets, first-timers all catching tags like it’s second nature. No ego, just energy.

ARTKILL$ THE PODCAST Episode Trailer (Feat. 90 One)

In this episode of ARTKILL$ THE PODCAST, we tap in with Austin’s own 90 One—a multi-hyphenate force moving through the city as a rapper, producer, entrepreneur, radio host, and media personality.
We get into the foundation behind his brand Texas Bred, a platform built to spotlight real talent, real culture, and authentic Texas energy. From building opportunities for artists to carving out his own lane, 90 One breaks down what it really takes to move with purpose in a crowded game.
We also dive into Texas Bred’s Summer Jam 2025 at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard—a high-energy, community-driven showcase that brought the city together for a full night of music, connection, and independent artistry. More than just a concert, Summer Jam stood as a statement: build your own stage and bring the people with you.
A standout moment from that night? A live art piece created in real time by artist Shane, aka Funkeeink—capturing the spirit of the event as it unfolded. We talk about what it means to create in the moment, under pressure, with the crowd watching—something that hits close to the core of ARTKILL$.
That leads us into the roots—our first ARTKILL$ show, also held at Kenny Dorham’s Backyard—where the foundation was laid for what this platform is becoming today. From live competition energy to community impact, we connect the dots between music, visual art, and culture colliding in one space.
We also touch on performance pressure, creative discipline, and what happens when preparation meets opportunity—on stage, on canvas, and in life.
Real talk.
Real hustle.
Real Texas energy.
This one’s for the creators building something out of nothing.
