Love and War. Group painting.
We made this last summer together in Kalapana during the escalation of the US bombing Iran. It was cathartic for people to paint together in the same page using whatever colors and shapes necessary to move through the moment. I really enjoy working as an unlicensed art therapist. .

The original piece went to my good Kansas City airport friend who I met on a several hours delayed layover while visiting my friend in DC. That trip to DC was when the National Guard were rolling out to be stationed all over the city. This abstract piece holds a lot of political references for me. Thanks for helping me create it. ❤️

There's a golf course next to Commons Ford Metropolitan Park in Austin that you can kayak to. One time I saw a small army of turkeys, walking across the golf course early in the morning when I was kayaking by. They looked like zombies, and I was really surprised to see them in such a manicured spot. Turkeys also live in Hawaii. I saw some on a golf course on the big island one time too. Pretty weird. On neither occasion was I golfing.

I haven't seen one yet, but apparently luna moths can be found in Texas!

So this is a wild one. I started it in Hawaii and finished it in Austin with lots of help from many contributors along the way. This is another collaborative painting that I did last year and realized I haven't posted yet. I fractured my wrist, so I'm posting a bunch of old work right now lol. I like the octopus garden vibes of this one. The creepy cat creature reminds me of Mr. Blank on that cat scratch TV show on Cartoon Network on Nickelodeon. I hope this brings you some whimsy today sent from my iPhone using voice text ha ha
