:::MISSION STATEMENT:::
This zine is a celebration of our foremothers who inspire us to redefine ourselves in our own terms. Through creative expression we create a community that aims to bleach the sexist, racist, and classist pattern in the patchwork of society: defiantly, shamelessly, and unapologetically. Savannah McAnally, Co-Founder, Design Editor

For all the feminists out there who could use a moment of inspiration, set aside a couple of hours for this recently released film, The Glorias! It's a story about early Women's Lib, MS Gloria Steinem, and some amazing women/activists from the movement: Wilma Mankiller, Bella Abzug, Dorothy Pitman Hughes, Dolores Huerta, and Flo Kennedy. Yes we can ✊✊🏽✊🏿

“For us, the idea of Girls Rock Camp is less about the final product of the song and it’s more about mentorship...It’s a self-efficacy, self-empowerment program. Music is our means of doing that, but it’s not our main goal. It would be awesome in 10 years to see this huge change in the popular music landscape, but it’s also not the end goal.”

Check out this great article featuring Girls Rock Austin & the whole Girls Rock Camp Alliance movement!

The effects are so important.
