Voices of Afrika Voices of Afrika is an acapella choral group that is a small collective of diverse students within African Students Organization at the University of Texas

Voices of Africa (VOA) is an acapella choral group that was formed under the African Students Organization to perform at Fest Africa, a cultural showcase put on by ASO. The group has since expanded and performs at a variety of events. VOA specializes in performing various arrangements of both native African and American songs. VOA focuses on singing within the local community and sharing the diver

sity of African music and culture. VOA's main goal is to share the many voices of Africa while building a strong bond amongst the group. We have performed at Fest Africa, the Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon, the Black Excellence Tribute hosted by UT Alumni Sanya Richards-Ross and Aaron Ross, the Heman Sweatt Symposium Evening of Honors, and other small venues. We sing in a variety of languages, including but not limited to: Igbo, Yoruba, Swahili, Afrikaans, and more. Interested in joining? Want us to perform for you? Contact Maria Okugo for more details!
