It’s that time again to fire up the H***y Donkey H***y Tonk!
This gathering will be part dance workshop, part connection experience, and part deep dive into what makes partner dancing feel truly magical. We’ll explore a variety of modalities designed to deepen connection without getting too far into the woo. Expect playful rotating partner exercises, icebreakers, a touch of curiosity and activities that help build trust, comfort, confidence, and presence on and off the dance floor.
Hosted by O’Beau Martin , this workshop will include some of the signature moves, techniques, and lessons that have shaped his journey as a dancer .Along the way, he’ll share insights from the past two decades on dance floors, developing connection, musicality, confidence, and creativity in partner dance.
We’ll move beyond basic patterns and focus on creating applicable sequences . Topics may include advanced turns, subtle dips, , and the art of mixing individual elements into linked transition and combination building into a smooth sequence. The goal isn’t simply to teach moves, but to help dancers understand how to put ideas together, improvise, and create dances that feel connected, playful, and alive.
All levels are welcome, though some previous partner dance experience is recommended, as we’ll move at a fairly brisk pace. Advanced dancers will find plenty to challenge and inspire them, while newer dancers will gain tools to accelerate their growth.
Come ready to learn, laugh, take a few risks, get a little vulnerable, and strengthen both your dance skills and your ability to connect with others. Most of all, come ready to deepen your connection—to yourself, to the music, and to the people you’re dancing with.
