Merry Christmas from Not Nice!

As we approach the new year, I thought I’d share this inspiration board Jenni and I built up over the past couple years. We’ve always been inspired by both handmade artisan designers and fast fashion, mass-produced jewelry, and these inspirations ignore those divides. I’m hoping to develop some of these into ideas that use aluminum can metal and graphics in interesting, more three-dimensional ways. I’ll have two months to tinker before markets start up again in March.

Popped up at with for a last-minute final sale for the holidays. Come check out a grassroots Austin tradition, grab a beer or cocktail, and wander among the beautiful light displays throughout the neighborhood!

Popped up at Pinthouse Pizza on South Lamar until 5 or maybe later to join them in celebrating recent awards for Electric Jellyfish and Training Bines. $4 pints of both beers and $12 four-packs all day. Come get some Christmas shopping done!

Tomorrow we’ll be at Radio with from 10-4. Lots of great vendors to see there with a beer or coffee in hand!

We’ll be at the all-reuse artisan market on Saturday, and will have a Not Nice booth run by friends the same day at the Wheatsville Coop on South Lamar. If you’re in Austin, make plans to come by and claim one of our last remaining duffel bags, tote bags, or glasses cases and check out all of the cool new styles we’re rolling out in our line of upcycled aluminum can earrings!

The Wheatsville market has always impressed us with its high caliber and variety of talented artisans, and the ACR market is a breath of fresh air with the many ways creatives are finding ways to divert waste while creating enticing products. The ACR market runs on Sunday too - we won’t be there, but if you can’t make it Saturday to see us, check it out on Sunday!

Ever wondered why we’re called Not Nice? Jenni had a friend in college who told her that she thought she was “kind, but not very nice.” She remained one of Jenni’s best friends, and even designed our logo. Couldn’t have put the difference between “nice” and “kind” than this woman does at around the 1 minute mark.

We’ll be at Triangle Park on Saturday with and a bunch of other cool artisans! This market is convenient to the north of downtown area (UT/Mueller/Brentwood/Hyde Park/Walnut Creek/Tarrytown) and we’ll have lots of upcycled earrings to show you, and more!
