Austin ISD Visual Arts Department The official page of the Austin ISD Visual Arts department. Why Art?

At Austin ISD, we recognize that visual arts are a vital form of personal expression and an essential component of a well-rounded education that emphasizes the whole child. The visual arts help our minds comprehend, process, and represent the complex world we inhabit. Through art, we can create shared experiences, engage in meaningful conversations, and gain new insights into issues, ideas, and people. Since the dawn of time, storytelling has been an integral part of human culture, and art is all about telling stories. That's why we strive to provide young artists with ample opportunities to explore various art forms, hone their skills, and share their unique stories with the Austin ISD community and the world beyond.
