Foster Sylvers has passed away. Sylvers was a member of the musical family, The Sylvers. They became popular in the early 70s. This large group of siblings- 10, nine performed in the band- was often compared to The Jackson family. Initially, Foster was not a member of the group, but the music bug called him too. In 1973, Two years after his siblings released their first records Foster would hit it big as a solo artist. His single “Misdemeanor” went top 10 on the R&B chart reaching number 7. He would then join the group and sing co-lead on their biggest hit, Boogie Fever, topping the chart in 1976. By the end of the decade Foster and the band’s popularity had waned. Foster would release other material, but never returned to charts. He would go on to do some studio work, with a number of artist including, Dynasty and Evelyn “Champagne” King. He died after a battle with prostate cancer. He was 64.
