Kind words from the desk of the city Mayor!
Our next show will be September the 14 at 5pm.
It will feature all of our students and will be the most impressive yet. Mark your calendars and follow our page as more details are to follow!
Dear Aubrey Citizens,
Just like that, July is wrapping up, and August is right around the corner. 2025 is moving quickly, and with August comes the return of students to our schools and neighborhoods—some for the first time, others coming back for another year. It feels like just yesterday we were celebrating this year's graduating class!
I hope many of you had a chance to enjoy at least one night of our city's incredible Summer Music Series. From the headliners to the openers to our very own Dream Music Academy, the talent was truly top-notch. I’d happily catch another show with any of those performers! And let’s not forget the vendors—what an amazing variety of local goods and special extra treats at these events like always.
Speaking of vendors, don’t miss out on the Fruit Jar Junction Farmers Market, which continues monthly and features even more local vendors. Whether you're looking for fresh produce, candles, handmade crafts, or something in between, it’s all made right here in our surrounding communities.
At our most recent City Council meeting, we covered several exciting items, including awarding the bid for Phase 2 of Veterans Memorial Park. This next phase will bring shade structures for the stage, a public restroom, and added parking—enhancements we’re thrilled to bring to the park. At our June Council meeting, we awarded the bid for our sports complex to Westwood! We're thrilled to kick off this major project and look forward to seeing it come to life.
We also reminded our citizens in the community announcements about our new and exciting: Main Street Motor Fest - the first annual! Taking place THIS SATURDAY, August 2nd, from 10AM - 2PM in historic downtown Aubrey, the Motor Fest will feature a full-class car show. Come out for live music, food trucks, local shopping, and a great time for the whole family. We hope to see you there! Additionally on September 19th, you will catch me out at the Aubrey Cares - Concert Benefitting Kerr County's Relief Fund. We will have artists performing and taking up cash/check donations for the relief fund for the recent devastating flood in Kerr County and surrounding areas. The benefit concert kicks off at 5:30 PM, and we’ll have food trucks on-site with plenty of tasty snack options to enjoy! More details to come!
As your mayor, I’m always here to support our citizens—whether you have questions, concerns, or want to talk about the growth and future of our wonderful city. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Wishing everyone a great rest of the summer—stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy the season!
