CASTING CALL FOR STUDENT SHORT FILMS IN AN INDUSTRY SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAM AT FILM STUDIO.
ATLANTA, GA
CAB Castings is excited to once again assist a talented group of students participating in a summer intensive film program at a film studio in Atlanta with casting for their upcoming 10-minute short films.

This is a wonderful opportunity for Atlanta-based actors to support emerging filmmakers, gain on-camera experience, and help the next generation of storytellers bring their creative visions to life.
PLEASE NOTE: These stories and character breakdowns were created by the students themselves as part of their creative process. They are excited to work with amazing local talent and bring their films to life!

Exact filming dates will vary depending on each student production’s schedule, so actors should have open availability throughout the filming window.

This is a non-union student project seeking local Atlanta talent willing to volunteer their time and creativity. We understand that a non-paid opportunity may not work for everyone. However, CAB Castings is proud to use our platform to support these students and connect them with the incredible talent here in Atlanta.
PROJECT 1
- GROWN HATTIE (HARRIETT) (Lead)
Female | Mid-30s to Early 40s | African American | Dark-Skinned or Brown-Skinned
*A social worker still haunted by the childhood she lost long ago. Independent and emotionally guarded, Hattie enters an unconventional trauma recovery center and is forced to confront memories she has spent a lifetime avoiding.
- DR. X (Lead)
*Male | Mid-60s | African American | Dark-Skinned or Brown-Skinned | 5’11”–6’3”
*A charismatic psychotherapist and founder of an unconventional therapeutic community. Charming, commanding, and deeply complex, his unique methods of healing may not be everything they appear to be.
Character Reference: Mr. Milchick from Severance.

*Female | Mid-40s | Afro-Latina or Latina 5’5”–5’7”
*A longtime resident of the therapeutic community who appears fully immersed in its unusual lifestyle. Beneath her unsettling exterior, she may understand far more than she lets on.

- MASON LLOYD (Lead)
*Male | Late 20s to Early 30s | African American
*Recently returning home after more than a decade away, Mason is quiet, disciplined, and emotionally guarded. Beneath his stoic exterior, he carries deep guilt and unresolved grief while trying to reconnect with a world that has moved on without him.
*Strong nonverbal acting ability is essential, as much of Mason’s emotional journey is communicated through subtle expressions and his eyes.
- MRS. LLOYD (Lead)
*Female | 50s to 60s | African American
*Elegant, poised, and exceptionally well-spoken. Mrs. Lloyd is a warm and loving mother who values family above everything. However, beneath her polished exterior is something slightly unsettling that suggests she may not be exactly as Mason remembers.
*Seeking an actress who can balance maternal warmth, sophistication, and a subtle sense that something is not quite right.
- THE SCIENTIST (Featured / No Lines)
*Male | 50s to 60s | White
*Highly intelligent, cold, and emotionally detached. Calm and authoritative, his quiet confidence makes him both believable and deeply unsettling.
*Seeking an actor with a strong, commanding presence who can communicate power without saying a word.
