✨Meet this year's Artist Market Jury! Every artist in the Atlanta Dogwood Festival Artist Market earns their spot through a jury of working artists, gallery and museum leaders and arts educators. Over the next few weeks, we’re introducing the six jurors who will review this year’s applications.
🚩First up is Judith Csiky! Born in Budapest and raised in São Paulo, Judith moved to Atlanta with her family in 1958 and has been part of the city’s art scene ever since. She earned her BFA in drawing and painting from Georgia State University in 1968 and learned alongside Atlanta greats like Joseph Perrin, Joe Almyda, Jim Sutton and Ben Shute. Today she works in fiber and collage, but oil on canvas and pencil on paper remain the heart of her practice.
Fun fact: she also holds black belts in judo and aikido! 🥋
