Tomorrow on Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM at 11am:
Sloan Postlewaite will be joining Mighty Joe Hamm and myself on air and bringing vinyl albums with her. I'll have the two Technics turntables set up for her use. Mighty Joe Hamm and Sloan will play most of the songs and I'll take a backseat to the two of them. Oh, I'll have music with me because I can't go into the studio with out some music to play even if I don't play many songs, at all. But, Sloan's musical taste is so different from Mighty Joe Hamm's and my taste that it will be a refreshing departure from our norm and true variety in action.
Sloan's is a guest because when I met her she said she always wanted to be on broadcast radio as she had experience in podcast radio. So, we made that happen for Sloan. Radio is something that gets into your blood. Mighty Joe Hamm did community radio in Ohio as a young man. He came to WRFG-FM to get back into radio. Tomorrow, they'll provide the handpicked music for our listeners.
Be sure to tune in to Plain Old Horizons 11am until 1pm on WRFG-FM, 89.3 on your radio dial or wrfg.org for live streaming.

Tomorrow on Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM at 11am: Billy Meyers is the guest host tomorrow for Rodney Gibbs, the regular 2nd Sunday host. Billy has a bluegrass show on two Wednesdays of the month. I myself love bluegrass and have room in my musical heart for all sorts of tunes. I believe Billy to be kind of like me, he enjoys good music in many different genres so tomorrow morning is his chance to play a diverse variety of music that he loves. So, tune in. I am sure he will surprise all of us. Tomorrow morning from 11am until 1pm on WRFG-FM, 89.3 on your radio dial and wrfg.org for live streaming.
Note: Mighty Joe Hamm and I will be hosting My Own House right before Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM. 9am-11am.

Tomorrow on Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM Atlanta: Mighty Joe Hamm and I welcome Arrie Bozeman of the Ain't Sisters to the show for a live in studio performance but she is not arriving alone, Arrie has two side projects going and she is bringing both bands, A Sydequest and Tirefire, with her. She is going to perform with both bands and I am not sure how this will work but I do have faith in Arrie. She is a talented woman and a skillful performer. She has brought good energy to our studio before and I expect it may be chaotic tomorrow morning but I also expect a lot of good music and good conversations because of the folks involved in this show.
Tune in tomorrow morning at 11am to Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM Atlanta, 89.3 on your radio dial or wrfg.org for live streaming.

Tomorrow on Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM at 11am:
Mighty Joe Hamm has invited the band the El Caminos to be on our Sunday morning broadcast. They have a new album and we'll be playing cuts from that plus there'll be conversations about the record, the band and the music scene all of us know and have been a part of. I'll have a few cuts from some of my favorite bands from the past as will Joe Hamm, I'm sure. The El Caminos will add some of their favorite bands, too. Tomorrow Morning at 11am on WRFG-Atlanta 89.3FM. Live streaming at wrfg.org.

Tomorrow on Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM at 11 am:
This is the Fourth of July weekend and on POH tomorrow, I have not one patriotic song in my setlist. But, you've probably heard all the patriotic songs at least once this week.
We don't have any guests scheduled for tomorrow so it'll be me and Mighty Joe Hamm exchanging songs that we've been listening to lately. I do have a treat for you and him. Mighty Joe Hamm and I both like Shel Silverstein who wrote several songs, including A Boy Named Sue. I have a song written by him sung by a legendary country voice of the 1960s. No, it is not Johnny Cash.
Tomorrow is a Summer Fund Drive day on WRFG-FM and Joe and I will try to raise some funds for the station. The station is 53 years old this summer and the station has always relied on listener support to stay on the air. To say that the volunteers and the listeners are a like minded community is a very accurate statement. So, if you have the means to give money to a deserving non-profit, consider contributing on-line or give us a call at the station tomorrow morning between 11 am and 1 pm.
That's Plain Old Horizons, a musical variety show on WRFG-FM, 89.3 on your radio dial or wrfg.org for live streaming.

Tomorrow on Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM at 11 am. Mighty Joe Hamm and I have a guest scheduled to come in and share their hand picked variety music with our listeners. Our friend, Sloan, is back in town from her college. The last Joe and I had heard from Sloan was late last fall when they visited Plain Old Horizons and share some good music with us. It was then she told us that she was going to study in Europe for the winter semester. So, Joe and I will have a chance to catch up on their studies in Europe and, perhaps, they will bring us some new music from Europe.
Tomorrow is Father's Day and I'm not sure if we will celebrate it in some way. I don't have any Father's Day themed songs prepared. But, happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. Y'all can all join me in wishing Happy Father's Day to Mighty Joe Hamm, too.
Tune in tomorrow to WRFG-FM, 89.3 on your radio dial or wrfg.org for live streaming at 11am.

This morning on Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM: I apologize for the tardy post. I try to post on Saturday before the the two shows that Mighty Joe Hamm and I host, the first and third Sundays. But, I had a lazy day yesterday because my band had a gig in Dalton, Ga on Friday evening. Traveling there and back plus two hours of playing music with my band will do that, require a a day of rest to recover. Today is still a lazy day because Joe and I have guests scheduled, Dan and Bianca. I met Dan on one of my walks out at Pine Lake. He is a musician, too, and has a post punk band. Joe came from punk music to the music scene in Atlanta so I'm sure he and Dan will have some common ground. Dan is bringing Bianca to the studio. She was on the college station in Athens, Ga for a couple of years so I am hopeful that she likes WRFG-FM. Being on the radio is addictive and once bitten by the bug, you'll find your way back to a radio station to get back on the radio airwaves. I do look forward to their visit even though they will be taking turns playing songs along with Joe playing songs from his set list. I should only be speaking today during the show.
That's Plain Old Horizons on WRFG-FM this morning at 11 am. 89.3 on your radio dial or go to wrfg.org for live streaming. Do tune in for a true variety show today.
