Happy National Jazz Appreciation Month! 🎢🎷

In April, we recognize and celebrate this art form rooted in Black American History.

Next Saturday, we will perform styles from New Orleans, the swinging streets of Chicago, Kansas City, New York, the cool sounds of the West Coast, and Brazilian influenced bossa nova.

Join us as we explore the rich, diverse tapestry of sounds across the nation showcasing jazz not just as a genre, but as a living, evolving symbol of American unity and creativity.

"Ti-De" by πŸ”₯

This modern ballad is one of our favorites. It highlights all sections of the ensemble!

Fun fact: Kokoroko first formed during an arts trip in Kenya in 2014. After bonding over similar tastes in music, they desired to connect young people of the African diaspora with genres like Afro beats and Highlife.

πŸπŸ‚ We're one week away from our fall concert! 🎢

Join us as we perform a mix of modern jazz pieces, traditional standards, and a special arrangement written for Ella Fitzgerald's 1960's Verve recording session "Ella Wishes You a Swinging Christmas."

This fall marks our second year back in action and we're excited to showcase what we've been working on! πŸŽΆπŸ€πŸ’™πŸ©΅
