📢 Important Update from The Butts Acting Guild 📢

Due to an unfortunate double-booking at the performing arts center, we were informed this morning that we would have to cancel our Friday night (8/21) performance of Savannah Sipping Society.

We're so sorry for the inconvenience — this was entirely outside of our control and not our choice. If you had tickets for Friday, you've already received a full refund.

We'd still love to see you at the show! Please head to our website to grab tickets for one of our remaining performances:

The things we hoped to build when we started the Butts Acting Guild had very little to do with sets, costumes, applause, or even what happens onstage.

We wanted to build community. ❤️

This photo is such a sweet example of that. Some of these folks shared the stage in Mary Poppins. Some worked behind the scenes. And when a few members of that theatre family took the stage in another production, the rest showed up to cheer them on.

That’s what community theatre can do. You spend weeks rehearsing together, building sets, finding props, solving problems, laughing, occasionally losing your mind, and creating something out of nothing. Somewhere along the way, you stop being just “the cast and crew.” You become friends. You become people who show up for one another.

When we created BAG, this was always part of the dream—not simply to produce shows, but to create a place where people of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences could find one another, form friendships, and feel like they belonged to something.

The shows eventually close. The sets come down. The costumes get packed away.

But if we’ve done this right, the relationships stay.

And that may be the very best thing we create. ❤️🎭

Today, we are incredibly grateful to the Georgia Power Foundation for awarding the Butts Acting Guild a $1,500 grant in support of our mission to bring quality community theatre and arts education to Butts County.

As a volunteer-run nonprofit, every dollar makes a difference. This generous investment will help us continue creating opportunities for people of all ages to perform, learn, volunteer, and experience the magic of live theatre right here in our community.

🎭 **Butts Acting Guild is Growing… and We Need You!**

It takes far more than actors to bring a production to life. Every show is built by an incredible team of volunteers working behind the scenes, and we're looking for people who would like to be part of that team!

Whether you're creative, organized, handy with tools, love decorating, enjoy social media, or simply want to support the arts in our community, there's a place for you.

We're currently recruiting volunteers for our committees:

🎬 **Production Management** – Help coordinate productions and keep everything running smoothly.

🪚 **Scenic Committee** – Design, build, paint, and create the world our audiences see on stage.

💡 **Technical Production** – Lighting, sound, projections, and backstage technical support.

👗 **Costumes** – Sewing, alterations, organizing costumes, dressing performers, and wardrobe care.

🪑 **Props & Scenic Dressing** – Find, build, organize, and decorate the details that bring each show to life.

📣 **Marketing & Communications** – Social media, graphic design, photography, website updates, programs, and publicity.

🎟️ **Audience Services** – Ushers, concessions, front-of-house, ticketing, and creating a welcoming experience for every patron.

❤️ **Development & Community Engagement** – Sponsorships, fundraising, grants, donor relations, workshops, volunteer recruitment, and community partnerships.

**No theatre experience is necessary!** We'll help you learn. Whether you can volunteer once a month or every week, we'd love to find a role that fits your interests and schedule.
