Swipe to see the difference - just one little touch (the rug) and it’s amazing how it pulls the room together just a little more.

With my Char at school we have been working on this small bedroom that Douglass has been using since we moved in almost four years ago. He got to move into the larger basement bedroom and now I’m having fun with this one. We have more plans - paint being one of them and a gallery wall full of art, a dresser, and maybe something upholstered under the tv. And don’t get me started on the bathroom. If I get my way, we will wallpaper. Ya’ll know I love to get to bring a space to life!

Here’s a little reminder to find beauty in the everyday.
A field of wild flowers.
A shadow that catches your eye.
The warmth of your coffee in the morning on your lips.
A walk in a new place.
Your pet’s funny quirks.
Even the joy of wrapping a gift for a friend.

There is beauty and joy that can be found in every single day, we just have to stop long enough to notice it! 💕

because it’s peach season and so many of you asked for this recipe. Would make a great app for your 4th bbq!

Peach Honey Toast
Cut peaches (I sliced about four)
Tbs of sugar
Sourdough bread
Whipped cream cheese
Local honey
Basil or mint
Sea Salt or finishing salt
Black pepper

Slice and cut your sourdough. Toast it and then cut slices in half. Spread a generous amount of cream cheese on each slice.

Wash and cut your peaches. Toss them in sugar and then layer on top of cream cheese

Next layer in your basil or mint leaves and drizzle with honey. Finish with a sprinkle of sea salt and a crack of black pepper.

We finally got to enjoy the pool at the . A little paradise in the city. If you get a chance to stay here it’s quite the treat - or you can just come hang with me and one day.

In full transparency, we recently joined their social club. Yes, the amenities are super nice but as our kids get older we are realizing the need to grow our community. Sadly, we moved to the city right before the pandemic and it was pretty isolating for the first few years of us being here - so we feel a bit behind. We have also rarely found community in places like church - makes me sad, but it’s the truth. Work both gets in the way of this (hello travel) but also where I have found some of my closest and dearest friends. Problem, we live in a large metro area which means so many of these friends are a good hour away.

I share bc there have been recent studies on just how lonely people feel in the world. And ironically, it peaks between 40-55 which is a big transitional time with folks who have kids. So Doug and I are being very intentional about putting ourselves out there and creating connections.

Curious, what are ways you have found to grow the community around you - when sports, school, and church are no longer options?
