“Posterior Epistaxis”

Posterior Epistaxis is the nosebleed of all nosebleeds. This is when the tissue at the back of your nose in your nasal cavity is damaged and bleeds. Although there was no trauma, I was recently in the hospital for posterior epistaxis and had to have surgery to ligate the sphenopalatine artery. This eliminated the bleeding, however, I also became anemic due to the amount of blood I lost and aware of the reality of what a blood transfusion is. The relationship I have with my own blood has become more intimate in knowing the taste, viscosity, and coagulation that blood is and becomes. It felt more precious to me as it literally slipped through my fingers; life blood more precious than gold.

We have had received several questions regarding tornado debris and sanitation pick up for the city. Please note that the city will pick up your debris and sanitation, but will be a little delayed as crews work to get through streets and impacted areas.
