I would like to share an invitation from my neighbor, Theo Guidry, who is helping to promote an Ethiopian Artists Exhibition presented by the Ebenezer Global Missions Ministry.

This exhibition will feature over 100 works of art by Ethiopian artists, bringing together pieces that reflect Ethiopia’s ancient artistic roots as well as contemporary visions. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Ebenezer’s global ministry.

Ethiopian Artists Exhibition
📅 Saturday, July 25
🕚 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📍 Ebenezer Baptist Church – Fellowship Hall
101 Jackson Street
Atlanta, GA 30312

Theo is a passionate collector and supporter of the arts. As an artist who has had the privilege of having my own work collected and supported by Theo and his family, I know firsthand the meaningful role that passionate collectors play in sustaining and celebrating artists. Their love of art extends beyond ownership—it is about preserving stories, honoring creativity, and supporting the voices of artists.

I hope you will consider attending this beautiful celebration of Ethiopian art and culture. It is another reminder of the many ways art connects us across histories, communities, and generations.

Not everything emerges all at once.

Sometimes it’s a shoulder. A curve of neck.

One small point of contact with the open air — and that’s enough to know something real is underneath.

This is Layers. A new fine art photography collection.

I’ll be sharing more soon about what this project is, and what it means to be part of it.

There is always a moment just before. Before the surface breaks. Before the first breath. This project is about that moment — and everything beneath it.

Layers. Coming.

A palimpsest is a manuscript written over, yet still legible beneath. This is the first image in my new series What Was Never Lost — an exploration of what survives erasure, what persists across time, what can never truly be taken.

Yesterday I had the honor of meeting with the Mayor of Atlanta and the Ambassador from Mexico in the Mayor’s Gallery at City Hall, where my exhibition “Black Royalty: A Celebration of African American Essence” is currently on display.

It was a joy to walk through the gallery together and share the stories behind the portraits. Moments like this remind me how art can open doors for meaningful conversation, cultural exchange, and deeper understanding.

I am deeply grateful to the remarkable individuals who trusted me to capture their portraits and to the City of Atlanta for providing this space where their stories can be seen and celebrated.

Art truly has a way of bringing people together. 💜

Message From The Artist: 👨🏽‍🎨
Exhibition Update — Black Royalty: A Celebration of African American Essence

An adjustment within the Mayor’s Gallery schedule has required the Black Royalty exhibition to shift dates.

We have been given a committed target date of Thursday, February 12, 6:00–9:00 PM at the Mayor’s Gallery, City Hall. This date is pending formal written confirmation, and we will share updated promotional materials as soon as that notice is received.

Thank you for your continued encouragement and support. The spirit, power, and purpose of this portrait experience remain unchanged, and we look forward to gathering in celebration of this profound expression of heritage, dignity, and presence.
