Yesterday I had the honor of meeting with the Mayor of Atlanta and the Ambassador from Mexico in the Mayor’s Gallery at City Hall, where my exhibition “Black Royalty: A Celebration of African American Essence” is currently on display.

It was a joy to walk through the gallery together and share the stories behind the portraits. Moments like this remind me how art can open doors for meaningful conversation, cultural exchange, and deeper understanding.

I am deeply grateful to the remarkable individuals who trusted me to capture their portraits and to the City of Atlanta for providing this space where their stories can be seen and celebrated.

Art truly has a way of bringing people together. 💜

Exhibition Update — Black Royalty: A Celebration of African American Essence

An adjustment within the Mayor’s Gallery schedule has required the Black Royalty exhibition to shift dates.

We have been given a committed target date of Thursday, February 12, 6:00–9:00 PM at the Mayor’s Gallery, City Hall. This date is pending formal written confirmation, and we will share updated promotional materials as soon as that notice is received.

Thank you for your continued encouragement and support. The spirit, power, and purpose of this portrait experience remain unchanged, and we look forward to gathering in celebration of this profound expression of heritage, dignity, and presence.

“Veiled Whispers” represents my last artistic creation for 2024. As the name suggests and the image conveys, this piece explores the yielding of the old form to the NEW. The random pieces accompanying the form are gentle reminders of what was gathered and released during this phase of development. It reflects the cyclical journey of growth...the dance of becoming and yielding...

It reminds me of a quote that a friend shared with me many years ago (and I never forgot it):

“We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” - TS Eliot
