I went to see this yesterday- yes - I still go to movies regularly I prefer the theater to home - plus - their popcorn is better. The reason I went to see this is because I am from a family of piano tuners - my grandfather, my uncles - and my father rebuilt them. So I heard things in this movie I hadn't heard in decades - the sound of a piano key being hit over and over again while the instrument is being tuned for starters. But the main character's hearing is so incredible he can hear the "gates" drop to open the safe - and of course - if became a nefarious cat and mouse game. Not a great movie - but entertaining and short - but I loved the piano tuning parts

In , Academy Award-winning director Daniel Roher’s first narrative feature, Leo Woodall stars as a gifted young piano tuner whose heightened sense of h...

I am a daily reader - yes, I read every day for about an hour (average 60-70 books a year). I am in two monthly bookclubs and another that meets 6x a year. This book was a book club selection - Mona may be going blind, so her grandfather volunteers to take her weekly to a therapist and instead they good to look at ONE piece of art for each of 52 weeks. This is set in Paris, so they go to the Louvre, D'Orsay, and Beaubouge (which was the Pompidou). It begins with Botticelli in the 1400's and ends in the present day. I would not recommend it for a book club to read in a month - it is a book that needs to be read, contemplated and not rushed. There are 52 pieces of art discussed - as well as 52 artists - starting with Botticelli in the 1400's and going to present day with Soulages (not that well known in the US - but he is in MOMA and the National Gallery in DC). My biggest disappointment is my favorite living artist is not included and he did site specific work for the Louvre - Anselm Kiefer. SO- don't recommend it to your book club unless you read just a couple of BIG books a year, but if you want a book you can pick up now and then that is educational - it might be for you!

I know I have varied musical taste - but this is what I've listened to in the last two days in my studio - Revolver, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, TRex, Mahler's #5, and ukulele master - Jake Shimbakuro. Out of these I've seen Mahler's performed, TRex and Shimbakuro.

I have decided to begin blogging again with a series on THE WOMEN WHO CHANGED ART - telling the story about women behind the scenes through time. I started with Johanna Van Gogh Bonger, because without her we probably would not have known about Vincent Van Gogh You can click here to read the short blog - so you don't have the read the massive book I read about her.

Check out my most recent blog - WINTER READING AND WATCHING - about two books I read - SPRING CANNOT BE CANCELLED by David Hockney and Martin Gayford, and A GENEROUS VISION: THE CREATIVE LIFE OF ELAINE DE KOONING by Cathy Curtis. AS well as a hypnosis of a documentary - THE THIEF COLLECTOR. about the theft of a DeKooning in Arizona in 1985 and found in 2017 in a deceased couples house. It's a crazy story!
