Why can a space transform so dramatically?

Because great interior design goes far beyond aesthetics.

A space should reflect the people who live in it. It should support a family’s lifestyle, daily routines, personal habits, and even the smallest details that make everyday life more comfortable and functional.

It’s not just about selecting beautiful materials, colors, or furniture. It’s about understanding how a space flows, how it will be used, what needs to be stored, and how every detail contributes to the overall experience.

And there’s another essential part of the process that beautiful pictures don’t always reveal: the reality of bringing a design to life.

Understanding existing conditions, anticipating technical challenges, evaluating possibilities, and finding practical solutions are all part of turning a beautiful concept into a space that truly works.

That’s where AL Interior Design makes the difference.

Our approach brings together thoughtful design, technical experience, and hands-on project management.

From the initial concept to the ex*****on process, we look beyond the final vision. We consider what it takes to make that vision a reality, while keeping each client’s lifestyle, priorities, and expectations at the center of every decision.

Because our goal isn’t simply to create a beautiful space for a photograph.

It’s to create spaces that feel right, function beautifully, and continue to make sense for years to come.

At AL Interior Design, we believe a successful project is built on the perfect balance of aesthetics, functionality, and thoughtful ex*****on.

Great design isn’t just about what you see. It’s about how you live, how you feel, and how a space works for you every single day.

✨ Your space deserves more than a beautiful design. It deserves a thoughtful approach.

Let’s talk about your project!

✨ A kitchen designed to bring together beauty, function, and warmth.

For this project, we created a light and timeless foundation, balanced with natural wood tones to add warmth and character. The new layout was designed to improve circulation, increase functional work areas, and create a kitchen that feels more open, comfortable, and connected to everyday life.

Every detail was carefully considered … from the lighting and cabinetry to the material selections and natural elements that bring softness and sophistication to the space.

For us, great design is not only about how a space looks, but also about how it works for the people who live in it.

Still looking back at some very special moments from my professional journey… ✨

In 2011, I was invited by Morumbi TV to talk about CASACOR, one of Brazil’s most important events in architecture, interiors, and design. Soon after, I was also invited to comment on Casa Cor Trio, and around the same time, Dolce Morumbi invited me to talk about Casa Cor as well.

What made these invitations so special was that these were not media outlets focused specifically on architecture and design. They spoke to a broader audience, and I loved having the opportunity to bring design into that conversation.

I also remember how natural it felt to be in front of the camera talking about something that had already been part of my life for so many years.

I truly believe that when we speak about what we know, live, and experience every day, the conversation simply flows.

Here in the U.S., I’ve also had the opportunity to participate in a few features connected to the Brazilian community, and those experiences were just as meaningful.

When I moved here in 2014, there was so much to learn — new processes, construction methods, materials, codes, suppliers, clients, and a completely different market.

Now, after 12 years working in the U.S., I realize how familiar this world has become too. Today, I could talk about interiors, renovations, construction, and the American market with much more confidence and ease than when I first arrived.

That is one of the gifts of experience: confidence, perspective, and the ability to speak naturally about what we truly know because we have lived it.

I’m going to look for some of the features I did here in the U.S. to share with you too.

And if you’d like to watch the Casa Cor and Casa Cor Trio interviews, the links are in my bio. ✨

Still reminiscing about the past… 🤍

Looking back at these publications takes me straight back to the 1990s and 2000s, a time when seeing one of our projects featured in a magazine held such special meaning.

My dear business partner at the time, architect Paula Paula Carrieri , and I were genuinely happy every time we were invited to publish our projects and interiors. It was such a wonderful feeling to see a project that had involved so many ideas, choices, meetings, and details finally appear in print and reach the hands of so many people.

Today, in an increasingly digital world, these magazines have become treasured reminders of a very important chapter in my professional journey.

More than just publications, they hold stories, projects, clients, lessons, and a partnership that was part of so many special moments in my career.

And perhaps that is exactly what makes these memories so precious: they remind us where we came from and of everything we have built along the way. ✨

Still sharing a few older projects and publications from my years in Brazil 🇧🇷 and this time, I’m looking back at three different children’s bedrooms, each created for a very different stage of childhood. 🤍

At the time, I was working alongside my dear business partner, architect Paula Carrieri , and together we had the opportunity to design these spaces for families who were very special to us.

One project was created for twin brothers from a family from Rio de Janeiro who loved the ocean. Their connection to the sea inspired the nautical theme and many of the details throughout the room. Today, those little boys are grown men 🩵and perhaps even close to starting families of their own.

Another project celebrated the moment when two brothers were finally able to share the same room. The younger one was no longer a baby, and the room needed to reflect this new stage: a space they could enjoy together while still giving each of them a sense of individuality.

The third bedroom was designed for a boy who could already see himself approaching his teenage years and loved having friends over. Our goal was to keep the joy and lightness of his age, while creating the more grown-up room he was already asking for. The result was a relaxed, casual space with plenty of personality 👦🏻 a room that felt fun, but no longer childish.

Looking back at these three projects, what surprises me most is how clearly they still prove something I continue to believe today: a well-planned layout and thoughtfully designed, well-executed custom millwork can completely transform a room.

And I truly believe that if these bedrooms were designed today, in 2026, they would still feel remarkably current.

Good design has a way of lasting beyond trends. It starts with understanding how people live, how a space needs to function, and how every detail can support that experience.

Beautiful memories 🩵🧡💚and a lovely reminder that timeless design is often found in the decisions that were made well from the very beginning. 🤍

Continuing through some of my favorite memories of publications in Brazil, my little girl’s nursery had to be included. 💗

At the time, we were only a short while away from moving to the United States, but I still wanted her to have a beautiful, delicate room waiting for her arrival.

Her brother helped choose the theme — he was sure she would love little bunnies. One day he even came home from school with a bunny he had made for his baby sister, and that was it. The theme was decided. 🐰

The crib, which had belonged to him, was given a feminine touch with a lacquered wood bow appliqué on the headboard. I chose a soft palette of pink and pistachio green to keep the room elegant, welcoming, and timeless.

The decorative borders were custom-made by Patty Mendes Atelier, along with a keepsake box and maternity door plaque. Those pieces became even more special because we later brought them with us and used them again in Nathalie’s room here in the United States.

Looking back, this was more than a design project. It was a mother preparing, with so much love, for the little girl who would one day become her best friend for life. 🤍

Looking back at some of my projects published in Brazilian magazines… and this one undoubtedly holds a very special place in my story. 🩵

It was Caio’s first nursery…and also one of the most emotional projects I have ever designed.

I wanted to move away from traditional blue and create a space that felt classic, elegant, and welcoming. Since Mauricio had always loved Winnie the Pooh, we incorporated that reference subtly through the bears, without turning the room into a themed space.

At the time, I was a first time mother designing every detail for my own son. Perhaps that is why this project took on an even deeper meaning.

Today, looking at these images so many years later, I remember not only the design choices, but also all the anticipation, love, and life stage behind them.

It is incredibly special to revisit a project like this…not only because of the designer I was at that moment, but especially because of the mother I was just beginning to become. 🩵

Sometimes, a change of scenery is all we need to clear our minds, refresh our ideas, and reset the rhythm of the day. Today, I traded my usual office for the deck … a little fresh air and a new perspective. 🤍
