The hands behind the Ella. 🇵🇭

Behind every hand-knotted detail are the artisans whose skill, patience, and experience bring each bag to life.

For Nancy and Eldren, making the Ella is part of years spent honing their respective crafts. Nancy has been weaving since she was around 18, learning by watching the aunts who raised her. Eldren began sewing as a teenager and has spent years applying those skills to handcrafted bags.

Their hands are among the many behind the Ella Hand-Crocheted Bucket Bag—knotting, sewing, finishing, and carefully bringing each piece together in the Philippines.

For us, seeing the finished bag at is also about seeing the people behind it represented on a global stage. As Nancy puts it: “Oh! That’s mine, I made that!”

From the Philippines, to TORY BURCH 🇵🇭✨

2.5 years in the making, the Ella Hand-Crocheted Bucket Bag is finally here.

Handcrafted from natural abaca by LIKHÂ’s artisans in the Philippines, each piece is shaped knot by knot — bringing the character of Filipino handcraft into a global fashion collection.

Behind its seemingly simple form are years of sampling, refining, problem-solving, and learning what it takes to bring an artisan-made piece into production for a global fashion brand — while preserving what matters most: the hand of the artisan.

The moment feels especially full-circle for LIKHÂ. Our founder, Nathalie Llorente-Lim, is also a Tory Burch Fellow through the Tory Burch Foundation. The fellowship and this collaboration began on separate paths, which makes seeing them intersect in this way all the more meaningful.

We’re proud to see the work of our artisan partners represented on this stage, and grateful to TORY BURCH and Nest for being part of the journey.

Our Founder & CEO, Nathalie Llorente-Lim, will be joining the NYC Female Founders: Building the Climate Economy panel to share a perspective that has long shaped LIKHA:

Sustainability goes beyond what a product is made from. It’s also about how it’s made, who makes it, and the communities and traditions behind it.

At LIKHA, we’ve seen how traditional craft communities have worked with natural, locally abundant materials and human-scale production for generations. What if part of building a more sustainable future isn’t always about creating something new—but recognizing, strengthening, and valuing what already works?

Nathalie will explore this and more on the Beyond Better Materials panel alongside an inspiring group of women founders building for a more sustainable future.
