To affirm, solidify, and empower our community to work together toward a culture of diversity and acceptance. Our Focus

Promoting African American lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, questioning, intersex and asexual people of African descendants and their families. Providing safe, open, and cultural events for Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ community. To promote educational, health, cultural

and social services directed at furthering the well-being, equal treatment, and development of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender, Queer and Plus (“LGBTQ+”) Community and supportive allies

To promote, through advocacy and education, a better understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and the necessity or the equal treatment thereof, including bringing an end to discrimination and oppression against all persons based upon sexual orientation, and/or gender identity and gender expression. Through HIV and STI testing initiative, our goal is to bring awareness, affirmation, and education within the LGBTQ+ community. To operate an LGBTQ+ Equality Center for the benefit of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

Black and Missing: One week ago, 16-year-old Benjamin Brathwaite left his home in Southwest Atlanta, near County Line and Niskey Lake Road, without his phone and hasn't been seen since.

Today the Supreme Court came for what was left of the Voting Rights Act.
In a 6-3 ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, the Court told Black America that the remedy for racial discrimination is now itself unconstitutional racial discrimination. Read that twice. Then read it again.
But here is the question they don’t want you to ask: if our vote doesn’t count, why are they working this hard to take it away? 🗳️🔥
Power doesn’t waste energy on what is powerless. The fact that they are this scared of us is the loudest evidence that we matter. So vote anyway. Organize anyway. Bring three people with you who weren’t planning to go.

Born to be real. Not to fit into your norms.

Today, we honor the courage it takes to live authentically in a world that too often demands conformity. Transgender and gender-nonconforming members of our community don’t owe anyone an explanation for who they are — they owe themselves the freedom to simply be.

Visibility isn’t just about being seen. It’s about being respected. Protected. Celebrated.

At Atlanta Black Pride, we know that Black trans people have always been at the forefront of our liberation. Their leadership sustains us all.

To every trans person in our community: We see you. We stand with you. You belong here — exactly as you are.

Born to be real. Full stop. ✊🏾

Today, we lost a giant.

Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson Sr. (1941–2026) stood with Dr. King on that Memphis balcony—then carried the torch for nearly 60 years.

He ran for President when the world said a Black man couldn't. He didn't just run—he won primaries, won debates, and proved we belong in every room where power lives.

His Rainbow Coalition declared that Black, White, Latino, Asian, Native American, and LGBTQ+ people standing together are "all precious in God's sight."

He taught us: "I Am Somebody."
He reminded us: "Keep Hope Alive."

Rest in power, Reverend. The path you blazed lights our way forward. 🕊️

Honoring the Dream. Continuing the Fight.

Today, we remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.—a man who taught us that love is revolutionary, that justice delayed is justice denied, and that our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

As BiPOC people, we carry forward a legacy that Dr. King helped shape. He dreamed of a world where we would be judged not by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character. We extend that dream to include a world where we are embraced for who we love and who we are.

The fight is not over. In this moment, when our rights are being challenged and our existence is being debated, we must do what Dr. King called us to do: Stand up. Stand firm. Speak out.

Injustice anywhere is still a threat to justice everywhere. And we are still connected in a single garment of destiny.

Today, honor Dr. King's legacy with action:
Register to vote. Show up for your community. Advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. Love boldly. Live authentically.

The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice—because people like you help bend it.
