Community Day this Sunday — Father's Day weekend, free and drop-in. Roberts Gallery, 2400 Plymouth Ave N.
This is one of our last gatherings before The People's Museum for Prince closes June 27, a community day centered on North Minneapolis and how it shaped Prince.
12pm — Free Walking Tour of Prince's North Minneapolis, led by historian Kristen Zschomler. Walk past Prince's childhood homes, his cousin Chazz Smith's house, the schools, the streets where his earliest bands played. 2–5pm — Drop-in at Roberts Gallery, 2400 Plymouth Ave N. Bring the family:
🧵 Create Memory Bracelets with artists Bill Jeter & Linda Maylish.
🎨 Prince Coloring Party with artist Tammy Ortegon. All ages.
🗣️ 3–5pm North Minneapolis Memory Circle with special guests Stephanie Carlson (one of Prince's school friends) and Terry Jackson (his next-door neighbor and first bandmate in Grand Central). Historian Kristen Zschomler and curator E C Balazs contribute context with the Houses of Prince project.
Bring your dad, bring your kids — celebrate where Prince came from.
