Try to pay attention to your grounding issues. Most are easily solved. If you miss them in tracking, and hear them in some tracks in a mix, notch it out. 60 Hz hum is a common problem that can be cleaned out in a mix before mastering. It’s much harder to take out once you’re at the mastering stage.

We recently rediscovered the words to this retro-funky "lover's remorse" song in a mental time capsule buried deep in 1989's subconscious. Back then, there were no studio monies available to record it, so the song gradually retired back to just the written page, which perished years later in a 2003....
