Atlanta Fringe Festival Back in 1947 in Edinburgh, Scotland, the biggest theater arts festival had a little brother named Fringe.

A 12-day multidisciplinary performing arts event in Atlanta GA, plus the podcast festival Fringe Audio, the busking festival Street Fringe, & free family-friendly fun at Kids Fringe The Fringe Festival allowed indie, underground, original theater companies and artists—amateurs and professionals alike—to showcase their work. If Atlanta knows about anything, it's indie, underground, original theater, and now we can put our money where our mouth is. Twinhead Theatre is proud to present the Atlanta Fringe Festival!

Happy World Fringe Day! Today we celebrate the global Fringe movement: its artists, festivals, audiences, and community.

Since we launched Atlanta Fringe in 2012, we’ve been incredibly honored, proud, & grateful to host hundreds of shows on dozens of stages in a bunch of neighborhoods all over our amazing city. The artists, audiences, staff and volunteers, & venue partners - not to mention the donors, sponsors, & granters - who make this festival happen might not even realize that they’re contributing to such a huge worldwide movement. But thankfully, Atlanta Fringe is not alone! We have simply plugged ourselves into one of the largest circuits for performing arts in the world!

Fringes are dedicated to providing space & time, points of connection, opportunities for community and career development, and chances to see your city in a new light, to look at the world and the people around you with new eyes. Unexpected moments, surprising performance spaces, bold, genre-defying work coming from diverse perspectives and voices, all happening inside a model of performing arts festival that is uniquely frenetic, challenging, and thrilling - all this comes together to create a space so fun, wild, welcoming, & fresh that is absolutely irresistible. We are so proud to be one of so many amazing fringes worldwide!

Give World Fringe and World Fringe Day a follow to keep up with all 300+ of us! and THANK YOU to the hardworking ladies of World Fringe for connecting us all & motivating our sector with these kinds of exciting collaborations and statistics!

How has Fringe influenced YOUR life?? Share your Fringe story with us in the comments!

If you’re like us, right now you’re in that nice post-Fringe hangover phase where you’re exhausted, recovering, a little sad, and HUNGRY FOR MORE. Great news! You get a discount to The Atlanta Opera’s NOW Festival, just for being cool people who support Fringe!

What happens when composers, librettists, and performers race against the clock to rehearse and stage brand-new operas in just 96 hours? Chaos. Beauty. Possibly genius. Catch The Atlanta Opera’s NOW Festival June 10–14, featuring the wildly inventive 96-Hour Opera Project and the world premiere of Water Memory (Jala Smriti). Come see opera being reinvented in real time!

Watch this awesome video they put together and check them out starting tonight! Tickets and info at AtlantaOpera.org/Now-Festival. Use promo code ALTFRINGE at checkout to save 10% off tickets.
