This wonderful acrylic painting was made by one of my young talented students, Maria Juliana Castro. She is a 5th grader at Arcado Elementary School, Lilburn GA. This 8" x 10" piece was completed in about 3 hours. Well done Juli!!!

This fascinating art piece was painted by Sophie Lou Schiffer. She is in 6th grade at Sutton Middle School, Atlanta GA. Since Sophie Lou joined my Art Classes in Feb 2022, she has created a variety of lovely artworks and here is one of them. This is a 8" x 10" Van Gogh study completed in 1 hours. Bravo Sophie Lou!!!

Take a look at this beautiful print created by Daniela Torres. She is a 6th grader at Sutton Middle School, Atlanta GA and became one of my students in Feb 2022. Since then she has learned how to work with a variety of art media: printmaking, drawing, painting and sculpting. Daniela completed this lovely 5" x 7" print in about 3 hours. Nicely done!!

Today I want to share with you this energetic charcoal drawing made by one of my (many) talented students.. and also an accordion player. His name is George Voorhees. He is a 6th grader at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School, Atlanta GA. This 12" x 18" piece is a Portrait of his accordion teacher. He completed it in about 6 hours. Beautiful job!!!

A BIG CONGRATS to one of my (many) favorite students, Ana María Castro for advancing as a semi-finalist candidate in the area of visual arts for Georgia’s Governor’s Honors Program (GHP).

Approximately 4,200 students were nominated to the competition, and only 1,500 of them have been selected as semifinalists for state interviews.

I wish you good luck on your state interview this coming weekend!
