How we imagine the future becomes the map for the direction we travel. When we imagine scarcity, fear and violence we move towards that future. When we imagine beauty, abundance, and connection we begin to make choices that create that kind of society.
Fear is negative imagination. Hope is positive imagination. When we train our imaginations, our minds become better at moving towards positive action and away from the more amygdala driven fight or flight responses.

In our latest podcast episode, Hannah talks to members of the Kairos Futura collective from Nairobi, Ajax Axe, Abdul Rop and Willie Ng'ang'a. Their project, The Wild Future Lab, won this year's S+T+ARTS Prize Africa, an initiative of the European Commission, recognising pioneering projects in Africa that catalyse social change by blending science, technology, and art. The Wild Future Lab not only creates a blueprint for the future but tries to build that future with resources available in the present.

Fracking is widespread across Western Colorado, including many extraction wells within 5 miles of the Colorado River the single largest water source in the Western US. Fracking depletes our water table and allows contaminants to seep into our water sources yet most people aren’t even aware of the scale of fracking in the state.
Ecology X is our ongoing project on Environmental posters for rewilded futures.
In 2023, artist Hannah Rothstein, created three posters to highlight issues around forest conservation and the threat of oil and natural gas to Colorado’s critical water source, The Colorado River.
These prints are available in a limited edition of 100 each, signed and numbered by the artist. The proceeds will go towards our newly created Forested Futures Lab Fund to support projects that cultivate forest health and resilience in the midst of climate change ecosystem collapse.

Using The Wild Future Tarot, young dreamers in Mukuru are diving into the Wild Future Lottery Challenge✨!

From biowaste innovation to radical urban silence, and crafting solutions rooted in their own lives, neighborhoods, and ecologies.

Each participant draws a card from the deck at the Imagination Station and receives a speculative challenge. They then write a visionary response tailored to Mukuru and the most compelling ideas will win!

One winner and two runners-up will be announced soon & there’ll be prizes for these visionary ideas.
