Land of the Sky Doll Club takes on World Doll Day 2026! 🥳🧸
What a spectacular day! Four of our club members headed out to the Fill-a-Bag Sale today to represent the Land of the Sky Doll Club and support the museum, and boy, did we deliver!
Now, full disclosure: some of us arrived towards the end of the line, and by the time we got through, the tables were pretty picked over! I even missed out on a couple of dolls I wanted: including a dark-skinned Cabbage Patch doll I couldn't get to in time. But you know a dedicated doll collector can always find the magic in the hunt. ✨
While my club friends found a lot more than me (they completely loaded up their bags!), I still managed to walk away with some amazing fixer-upper treasures and project pieces:
👶 An Anne Geddes hedgehog baby and seperate Anne Geddes teddy outfit.
🧺 A sweet little 12-month-old sized outfit that we are going to try to get some stains out of.
🪑 A little sleigh rocker and a bunk bed ready to be restored, plus a vintage vinyl doll and a wooden walker that just needs some new feet!
🧵 A fantastic stash of autumn curls that will be perfect for a future project, a cute little finger puppet, and a little kitty that snuck into my pile at the end for my friend Janet.
We took full advantage of the sale, and by the time we were done, we had an open van that looked like absolute doll paradise. Every single bag we filled goes directly toward supporting the museum's programs and preservation, and we couldn't be more grateful to support such a wonderful cause.
We can't wait to bring these finds to our next club meeting for show-and-tell, gifts, and getting to work on these restorations! 🛠️🎨
