If I were a through-hiker (which, for the record, I never will be) Wednesday would have been a zero day. We had plans. Swim in an unimaginably blue, cold plunge, mountain lake. Visit another stunning waterfall. Find more amazing gifts from Mother Nature. Well, we couldn’t help but check off that last bit. I guess I mean new surprises. But really nature changes moment to moment so everything is always new. Anyway, my point is, we sat. We stayed put. We meandered around the flower farm. None of us wanted to be anywhere else. Not even my 15 year old niece. Let’s just chill. And so we did.

This itty bitty flower shed Airbnb in the mountains of Washington on a working flower farm is in the most peaceful setting run by the most nurturing, caring women. They will include you, help you, offer directions and advice, check in on your comfort, or leave you completely alone if that is your preference. It’s totally up to you. We chose to fully engage with them and now we have life long friends. I will be happy to share more with you once I’m home and not flitting from awesome town to awesome town, because this is an experience that will live in my heart forever. As I sit here on the Oregon coast a stones throw from the powerful Pacific Ocean and the giant monoliths that rise from it, I’m thinking of the flower farm.

Did I mention we made flower crowns and bouquets from the flowers picked in the field?
