Our Story
QUICKCHESTER·TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2019·
QuickChester began as a folk duo. Paul Quick and Mark Chester met sometime around 2009, and began jamming together for fun. Working to develop some of the songs written by Mark, they began performing in an Asheville coffee shop. Expanding into a trio with the addition of Alicia Knighten, they also began to expand the local circle in which they per

formed, as well as their collection of music. Eventually, with the help of local music producer Russ Wheelock, they began to lay tracks for their first album, “Cocoon.”

During the recording process, the group was joined by Kate Barber on flute, and Ed Barber on bass guitar. In February, 2019 they released the CD “Cocoon” with live shows including The Flying Oatsmen out of Atlanta, GA, (Russell Brown - guitar, Jerry Sorn, keyboard, guitar, pedal steel, Scott Balun - Bass, and Darren Goot, Drums) Nathan Ebanks, Asheville, NC - keyboard, Daniel Wytanis, Atlanta, GA - trombone, and Chris Suarez, Atlanta, GA - saxophone.
