Last night’s poetry slam was absolutely magical! The Beasts’s own Lisa Franklin facilitated an amazing event as the slam’s emcee, and the Beasts’s own Justin Blackburn () took first place at the last moment, performing his fantastic poem, “White People Us.” Many of the Beasts performed, with other poets driving in from out of town to be able to slam, and share their amazing art. It was a beautiful beginning to something genuinely poetic; pun absolutely intended.
and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue to host than The Elephant Door ()!
Poetry slams will continue on a monthly basis, happening every second Sunday, from 7-10pm, at The Elephant Door!
