Did you know that if you want to fly your UAS “drone” for commercial use, you must follow the FAA’s set of operational rules, known as “Part 107” UAS remote pilot certification.
Commercial use for UAS “drones” is defined as:
Any commercial use in connection with a business, including:
* Selling or using photos or videos taken from a Drone in furtherance of a business even if not paid directly
* Using a drone to provide contract services, such as industrial equipment or factory inspection
* Using Drone to provide professional services, such as security or telecommunications
* Using Drone to monitor the progress of work your company is performing
* Using any drone imagery for sales or marketing purposes
Along with obtaining your Remote Pilot certification and insurance, there are other rules that must be complied with to include, but not limited to:
* Must fly at or below 400 ft ASL *
* Must NOT fly at night *
* Must NOT fly over people *
* Must not fly near manned aircraft *
* Must NOT fly within 5 miles of an airport without ATC authorization *
* Must fly within Class G airspace only *
* Must maintain VLOS at all times *
* Must have each aircraft registered and labeled

Failure to comply with small
Unmanned Aircraft Systems “drones” may result in regulatory and criminal penalties. The FAA may assess civil penalties up to $27,500. Criminal penalties include fines of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment for up to three years depending on the severity. Especially controlled airspace violation.
