Valorie Sams
March Artist of the Month

Valorie grew up on the southern coast of Alabama in Fairhope, but she now calls Artesia, New Mexico home, where she lives with her husband and three kitties. After a 35-year award-winning career as a graphic designer, she’s now enjoying retirement through fine art and we are fortunate to have her as an Artist at The Gallery. You might recognize Valorie from The Gallery before. She was an artist member here, stepped away for a while, and we’re thrilled to have her back with us for approximately 6 months now.

Valorie works in colored pencil, watercolor, and acrylics, and her work is absolutely beautiful — richly detailed and strikingly realistic. She loves capturing the small, quiet moments that make a subject come alive.

With all her design experience, Valerie also puts together our beautiful monthly gallery newsletter. She helps keep the public in the loop about upcoming artist classes, gallery events, and new artists joining us.
