It’s a sad day in the Iowa Great Lakes area, as the Dry Dock is closed for good… You could say that Okoboji and the Dry Dock were synonymous because if you haven’t been to the Dry Dock, then you haven’t really been to Okoboji! There are a lot of “bests” we’re going to miss from the Dry Dock starting with their breakfast and bloody mary’s to chislic and wings to the perfected steaks and of course the famous dunker burger, all of which were always served with a beautiful view of West Lake Okoboji! On behalf of the community, I’d like to thank the Mitchells and staff for such and unbelievable legacy and for being one of the reasons Okoboji is so special! On behalf of Yak Club, I’d like to thank you for always giving us a starting point and always making room for us for breakfast! On behalf of Best of Boji I’d like to thank you for all of the amazing food and drinks you provided not on the vacationers but the locals as well, you will forever be one of the Bests of Boji! And I personally want to thank the Mitchells for the kind, loving, respectful people they are! I’ve learned in life that you want to surround yourself with good people with big hearts, so thank you for being those people! J.D. MItchell you have been a great friend of mine over the years and I’m super thankful for our friendship! Athletic Republic Spirit Lake had a great 2021 & has had a very busy start to 2022.

Dec '21 marked one year at our current location (major upgrade if you were unaware). When many gyms were being closed for good here I am taking a major risk & trying to expand. I questioned myself too many times to count. But my members responded as has the community & we are growing!

So with the increase in traffic comes wear & tear on equip (naturally). So the re-investment & upgrades have begun. New equip (ski-erg), battle rope, DL band pegs, another trap bar, replaced DBs (after waiting 6 mos 🤦), replaced slam balls, more wall timers, KBs (because of course) & plans to get benches re-upholstered. And soon a vending machine specifically to meet your snacking needs (approved by yours truly‼️ So basically kale chips & carrots 😉). its currently in production & plans to be up and running later this month 💯

But this is only the start of the re-investment. Upgrades will continue ❤ and it's all possible because of you! So Thank You.
