Arts Arlington The Arlington Commission for Arts and Culture serves as the umbrella organization for all Town-related arts and culture activities.

ArtsArlington is presented by the Arlington Commission for Arts & Culture, the umbrella organization for town-related arts and culture activities in Arlington, MA. Its mission is to cultivate a sustainable and supportive environment for the arts and enliven public space with accessible creative experiences to strengthen and enrich our community, create opportunities for artists, and invigorate the

local economy. ACAC consists of a core committee and four main standing subcommittees: Marketing and Evaluation, Grant Making, Fundraising and Resource Development, and Community Engagement (formerly Public Art and Programs and Festivals). The Commission's responsibilities include actively promoting and advocating for arts and culture, managing the Arlington Cultural District, seeking and distributing arts-related grants, and supporting a robust public art program for the Town. Meetings are held monthly on the first Thursday, 7:30 to 9 pm. The meetings are open and the public may attend.

Join us on Saturday, June 20 from 2–4 PM at Cleveland Street & Mass Avenue, next to the Fox Library, for an afternoon of music, community, and public art.

Paint fish for Arlington's GO FISH public art project while enjoying live performances by The Good Trouble Brass Band and Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, plus a reading by Teresa Cader.

Come celebrate creativity, community, and the herring of the Mystic River with us!

Bring the whole family and help create public art for Arlington! Join us for a free Family Fish Painting Workshop on Wednesday, June 17 at the Fox Library.

Choose from three workshop times:

Open to ages 3+ with an adult, this fun, hands-on activity invites participants to paint fish that will become part of the GO FISH public art installation on the Fox Library and Olympic Pizza wall.

The June ArtsArlington newsletter is out now!

Have you seen the “pedestals” around Robbins Library? Part of Chris Frost’s Unseen / Unforgotten installation, they commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in Arlington and honor the everyday residents whose lives were shaped by the conflict.

Tonight, join us for Pedestals & Poetry, a unique evening of spoken word inspired by the installation. Local poets, including Arlington Poet Laureate Teresa Cader, will share original works from 7–8:30 pm in the Town Garden behind Robbins Library (or the Community Room in case of rain).

Poets will present their works inspired by artist Chris Frost’s “Unseen/Unforgotten: A Remembrance of Menotomy’s Everyday Defenders, 1775,” an art installation that commemorates the 250 anniversary of the American Revolution in Arlington.

Attendees will visit the pedestals at the library in Robbins Memorial Garden and hear artist Chris Frost speak about the project.
