Refreshments will be served. Stop in and see what we have planned. It will be something you have never seen before!
We recently completed the restoration of a baby grand piano for one of our musical clients, giving it a new life and new purpose.
We were asked to be involved on a unique project, the restoration of the Dallas Municipal Building in Dallas, Texas. The contractor specializes in the unique and historically accurate reproduction of past architectural landmarks and this building is no exception.
Completed in 1914, it is undergoing a major face lift with the interior being prepared for the University of North Texas Law School.
Intaglio Composites was consigned to provide and install the bollards historically present in the original presentation of the building. These photos show the bollards as accurate replication to the originals (with ADA additions)
Included here are the production and installation of the rail system along with a few snap shots of the building interior.
The jail cells located on the top floor included the location where Lee Harvey Oswald was held following the assassination of John Edward Kennedy. We have been asked to weld the cell walls back in place as they set to preserve the artifacts of his incarceration location when the new interior is completed.
This project has been as challenging as any that we have undertaken. The nuances of the bollard shapes combined with directional accuracy and cable inclusion has made this design and installation very complex...then add the ADA variables and wow!
Just completed a great show in Dallas at MetroCon and met some great designers that fell in love with our materials. We look forward to the creative application of our materials in the marketplace. The display shown here was created to combine the effect of our engraved aluminum with led lighting. We have the capability of providing the entire package, programmable lighting with our engraved products.

Professional pictures arrived on this project depicting the unique application of our photo-engraved aluminum. The engraved aluminum spans over 3000 square feet extending inside and out on this station as a memorial to the Dallas Fire Department.
As we are just preparing work on an upcoming project, we ran across this copy of the speech given by the mayor of Dallas as they were unveiling the plaque we produced for the JFK Memorial.

EXCELLENT speech by Dallas mayor Mike Rawlings- JFK 50th Anniversary Dallas.
Intaglio Composites was able to capture video of the night streets-cape of a prominent landmark sculpture created as part of a land redevelopment project in South Dallas. The client originally had just specified programmable LED lighting installed in the tips of these pieces then requested we also replace the white ground lighting with more LED colored capable lighting. The effect was amazing as it gave new life to the engraved iconic facades of the work, as it depicts two hands shaking.

We could not wait until the trim was complete to share the latest completed project from our company. Engraved Aluminum panels cover the entire interior walls of Fire Station 27 in Dallas Texas. They represent a memorial for the Fire Department.Using our aluminum technology, we are able to engrave aluminum on a large scale with precision. This collection of panels pictures are only half of the entire design. We also have exterior panels pictures coming soon.
Trail Signs along the "Katy Trail" in Dallas, Texas. Using actually railroad rails, these markers lay against the pedestrian use trail. Our aluminum engraving technology was used on the actual sign panels.
Heron Pond...a nice development project and an old client as we have veered away from this type of work generally...but they appreciate our uniqueness and quality. It makes a big difference.
And just once in a while, we have a client that lets us take their project to a higher level. Here this Blue Heron is hand painted onto this monument panel. The original panel is double sided aluminum panels, painted in automotive urethane and cleared just as you would a vehicle to protect the colors and provide UV protection of the colors. The surface is then scuffed and we use enamel paints to create the painting which afterward will have another two coats of automotive clear applied to make this work a very resilient and long-lasting sign for our client.
Stretching over 1.25 miles, these features are created from a 12" square tube steel structural core with an anodized aluminum body wrap. The tops are perforated aluminum lids with enclosed programmable LED lighting. As these grace the road, they act as a prelude to the feature six that includes the engraved handshake signifying the connection between two historical neighborhoods in South Dallas. The sign graphics are further examples of the companies capabilities created from 3/4" steel uprights with 3/8" aluminum rolled plate with engraved graphics.
Our year long journey has ended. The ribbon cuts next week. We had some big challenges but in the end, it came together beautifully! Here is to the first step in the revitalizing a stricken area in South Dallas.

After several days of manipulation, we finally were able to complete the installation of this body of art. Now finally get the lighting done for the ribbon cutting April 23.

What started out to be a great day to complete our installation, ended after we had to shut down due to poor placement of mounting bolt sets on top of the pillars. An entire day wasted trying to modify the steel brace plates forced our work to be returned to the studio for modifications.
Our installation (Valley Crest) on MLK Boulevard in Dallas has begun. One of our staff captured a beautiful dusk shot as staff were leaving the site. We are just a couple of weeks away from completion and lighting these iconic structures.
We also introduced a memorial box several years ago and wanted to make sure it is here for our clients to access easily.

Thirteen years ago, we experienced an attack unlike any other -- an attack carried out by radical Islamic terrorists on American soil that claimed the lives of thousands. Our fortitude was tested, but together we remained strong. On that day, and in the years since, we have showed strength and perseverance as a nation and as a people, and because of the sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform, we brought the terrorists involved in these horrific attacks to justice ...Ted Cruz
We created this piece in photoengraved concrete as homage to this event in history.

Recent Inquiries has prompted me to post an important project that we created a few years back using our engraved aluminum. It turned out amazingly well. It is called the Osher Map Library on the University of Southern Maine Campus in Portland, Maine. What is so unique is the presence under cloudy skies and how it pops when sunny!

Completed in late 2012, Intaglio Composites created these large graphical stars on a Texas High School Football Stadium, complete with internal LED lighting system. The largest star measuring 25' in diameter is protruding from the fascia over 8', giving it an ominous presence as you enter the stadium. A challenge was to create an all aluminum piece, light enough to allow a crane to hoist the object in place 185' from the fascia and over 90' into the air but it was achieved perfectly.
Using the art of gilding and glue chipped glass, we framed this picture of Austin , one of the original great Texans! Intaglio Composites strives to learn old techniques and find new ways of applying them.
Intaglio Composites is always testing new concepts, trying new applications and the project showcased here is no exception. This was a test in glass engraving that has never been tried before. They are engraved glass panels mounted into a frame with edge lighting for illumination. The effect is quite powerful.
Any thoughts or comments on how it could be improved or changed??
Intaglio Composites owner, a USAF veteran, set out to change the way people viewed military honors, both in life and death. "It is sad to see a flag honoring someones sacrifice in a triangle box from China on the wall. It suggests what happened but does not truly represent the sacrifice for what that emblematic item suggests and in today's world as our nation continues to loose it's true north, it is imperative that we find a way to tell the story to our children." And in this spirit, a special collections of boxes were created to showcase the life this flag is honoring.
This gives the onlooker the opportunity to connect with who this flag or medal honors rather than having it thrown in a drawer or pinned on a wall, unmarked.
You are invited to the website that features this project and learn more about how we create the one of a kind memorial boxes and keep in mind, they are not just for military applications.

In the next few weeks, we will be going back and highlighting some of the creative projects we have created and ones that are being proposed. This will provide a much easier platform to convey through than constantly updating the corporate website. We invite you back often to see what we are up to.
The Valley Crest project is underway. Here, the staff welder is beginning the crucial angular attachment of 12" square tubing that will provide the structural strength to these "ribs" , the tallest measuring over 50'.
