Happy World Lizard Day! When I was a little one in elementary school, we had to write and illustrate a short book about a pet or animal, so I used our iguana, Magellan, as my subject. (Any Millenials or other elders here remember Magellan the dragon from a Nickelodeon puppet show called “Eureeka’s Castle?”) My whole life, I’ve loved reptiles, amphibians, and their more magical cousins. So, I give to you the title page of my unpublished masterpiece, “My Lizard Magellan,” and some other fun on-the-job lizards and dragons. 😆

Art has so many fun aspects and styles! Even long-time face and body painters have areas they want to learn more about, and improve in. A big one of mine has been one stroke roses (and other flowers,) so I’ve been working on them on and off over the past year or so. The practice board is my latest, and I’m proud to see the progress. If something is worth doing to you, it’s worth doing badly (or what you think is “bad”) - that’s how you learn to do it better! 💜
